In order to further promote technical cooperation and academic exchanges between young scholars and graduate students in urban rail transit, improve the quality of graduate training, and share high-quality educational resources, the 2nd Graduate Academic Forum on Intelligent Equipment and Safety Emergency in Rail Transit, hosted by School of Urban Railway Transportation of Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology, was successfully held on October 19th at Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology. More than 100 senior experts, young scholars, and graduate students from well-known universities such as Tongji University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Shanghai University, and Donghua University attended the forum. Professor Liu Zhigang, Dean of the School of Urban Railway Transportation, Professor Hu Dingyu and Professor Wang Lei, Vice Dean of the college, and representatives of the school's faculty and students attended the forum. The opening ceremony was presided over by Dean Liu Zhigang.

In the morning main venue, experts and scholars from the field of rail transit brought an academic feast to the forum. Researcher He Chao from Tongji University presented a report titled Efficient Calculation Method for Vehicle Induced Vibration in Rail Transit Tunnels, introducing the dynamic calculation method of tunnel foundation coupling and the calculation model for vehicle induced building vibration in rail transit tunnels. Professor Wei Kai from the School of Civil Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University gave a report entitled Design Method and Engineering Application of Dynamic Stiffness that Consider Track Displacement, Vibration Reduction, and Wear Reduction Requirements. He introduced the basic concepts of track stiffness, track dynamic stiffness testing, characterization, and algorithms, dynamic stiffness design method for track displacement, dynamic stiffness design method for track vibration reduction, and dynamic stiffness design method for track wear reduction.

This graduate forum focuses on four themes: intelligent operation and maintenance technology for rail transit vehicles, vibration and noise testing and control technology for rail transit, emergency safety technology for rail transit, and intelligent construction and intelligent operation and maintenance of rail transit. More than 60 students have submitted academic papers. In the afternoon sub forum meeting, 21 students were selected to report their research content. All colleagues present actively, seriously, and warmly responded. During the award ceremony and closing ceremony of the forum, a total of 6 students' papers were rated as excellent papers, and they were awarded by Professor Hu Dingyu and Professor Wang Lei, Vice Dean of the college.

This forum is a high-level and high-quality academic exhibition, providing a high starting point, wide range, and multi-disciplinary academic exchange platform for young scholars and graduate students. It helps broaden the academic horizons of our graduate students, improve their communication skills, and stimulate innovative thinking. At the same time, this academic forum actively guided the collision of different academic thinking, deeply promoted the exchange and integration of various research teams, and focused on showcasing the forefront and development trends of urban rail transit under the background of rapid scientific and technological development. It helps to promote disciplinary innovation and lead the advancement of scientific research in the future field of urban rail transit.
